A recycled-materials installation for an eco-festival dedicated to waste processing and conscious consumption.
Among ten invited art groups, we presented 'The Skin' — a 15×5-metre installation in the shape of a tiger skin, assembled entirely from plastic waste.
The project was realised together with a team led by Sergey 'Póga' Pogosyan.
Cleaned recycled materials were used for the mosaic: yoghurt cups, ice-cream tubs, household-chemical bottles, and more. Colour and texture were dictated by the materials themselves.
A separate challenge was mounting the 300-kilogram structure in the shopping centre window. The installation had to be conceived not only as an art object but as an engineering system.
Without moralising, signalling the scale of plastic waste and the potential of recycling, the work became iconic in the urban space and remained in the mall for a couple of years after the festival ended.
